As you might imagine, the laughing kookaburra, a carnivorous bird native to the eucalyptus forests of eastern Australia, gets its name from the manic laughter-like call it lets out. But did you know this bird has another funny name? Thanks to its noise early morning and evening choruses, people call it the “bushman’s clock.”
